Best Flash Games Made in 48 Hours (Global Game Jam)

The Global Game Jam is a LAN party for game developers coordinated for the same weekend in 138 sites spread across 23 countries. Developers work in small groups to create a game from beginning to end in a prescribed 48 hours. The brief time span is meant to help encourage creative thinking to result in small but innovative and experimental game.

Astronomers discover cool stars in nearby space

An international team, led by astronomers at the University of Hertfordshire have discovered what may be the coolest sub-stellar body ever found outside our own solar system. Using the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT) in Hawaii, a discovery has been made of an object which is technically known as a brown dwarf.
